Handmade Footstools

Hi im Nicky, Welcome to my website Shaker'n'Weave. All of my products are handcrafted and hand woven from high quality products and genuine Shaker tape. I also use completely fire retardant foam to pad out the weave.

Every footstool is dowelled for extra strength.

Once an undercoat is applied the footstools are treated to at least 2 coats of durable high quality paint.

I only use genuine Shaker tape to weave the footstools, a tradition stemming back hundreds of years. This strong durable tape will last for years and would look fabulous in any room of the house. I also place a layer of fire retardant foam between the weave for additional strength and definition. From time to time I also re-weave old furniture.

Find a lovely piece of furniture

I source second hand furniture to up-cycle from local suppliers. Everything is stripped back to bare wood and then primed.

Prepare well

Two coats of high quality paint is then applied as well as polished at the end.

Enjoy the finished product

And then weaved with the same genuine Shaker tape that I use for the footstools.

Informative Cards

Every piece of furniture has a small envelope tucked inside the woven pad, this has the date the piece of furniture was made, an issue number and the Shaker'n'Weave logo. One day in the distant future, if your stool is reupholstered, a cute lil historic envelope will be a quaint reminder of its origins.

There are 13 different colours I can use to weave furniture. Some products are ready to sell straight away(please see my selling page) I can also take orders to weave your footstools to match your decor. (Please see bespoke page.)

Although every piece of furniture has had ample coats of paint, sometimes accidents happen so just incase, I provide a tiny pot of matching paint.
